When the work is done and the problem is still there

I work with CEOs and executive teams on problems that survived the budget, the plan and the reorganization.

Two ways to start:

A 45-minute conversation. Confidential, no obligation, no deck. If I am not the right fit, I will say so.

A live working session of 2 to 4 hours with your executive team on one real problem.

Between “everything depends on me” and “nothing can be done”

When a problem has resisted everything you have thrown at it, two stories compete: everything depends on you, or nothing can be done. Both are wrong, and both are heavy to carry alone. Between them there is almost always a little room to move. Here is what that can feel like:

“I built this system, and it failed. I am part of it.”

That is hard to say out loud. It is also where the real information is, so we start there, without blame.

“My position and my reputation are on the line.”

Many decisions at this level are made carefully because of that. The work is private, senior to senior, and it protects your standing.

“My situation is different. I don't believe anyone can help.”

Maybe. I will not tell you it is like others. We begin with your case, and I will say so if I am not the right person.

“I don't understand this adaptive capacity, and this sounds like coaching.”

Fair. This is about how your executive team decides under pressure, and what it can change in the next few weeks.

Is this you?

The same strategic problem has been “solved” more than once, and keeps coming back.

Decisions that should take a meeting take a quarter.

The team is competent and committed, and execution still stalls in the same places.

More data and more advice than ever, and less clarity.

Why me

Over 20 years and more than 20,000 hours alongside executive teams and boards in Romania and the region, which is where this approach came from. Non-executive director on several business boards; two mandates on the WWF CEE Board, now on the WWF CEE Council.
